Dr. Wm. Ben Johnson

Wm. Ben Johnson, DDS, attended the University of Tulsa from 1962 to 1955. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1969 from Baylor University. After serving in the US Navy from 1969 to 1971 he returned to Baylor and received his Endodontic Certificate in 1973. He is a member of the ADA, AAE, ODA, American College of Dentists, and International College of Dentists. Dr.Johnson maintained a private endodontic practice in Tulsa, Oklahoma from 1973 to 2003 when he retired from full time practice.

Dr. Johnson founded Tulsa Dental Products in 1989, a company many consider to have revolutionized endodontics in the 1990’s. He has been instrumental in developing and improving products for the advancement of the specialty of endodontics. He is most noted for creating Thermafil and Nickel Titanium instrumentation. Additionally, he introduced MTA, the first bioactive filling material. As a Side venture, he started a fishing lure company, “Terminator”, spinnerbait being the flagship product.

Dr. Johnson has received numerous awards including the American Association of Endodontists Presidents Award, Philanthropist of The Year Award, Oklahoma Inventor of the Year Award, French Society of Endodontists Louis I. Grossman Award, and the University of Tulsa Distinguished Alumni Award.
